Harvest Festival Potatoes

Every October Castle Douglas Parish Church distribute small bags of potatoes around Castle Douglas to celebrate harvest time, with our very own Iain McDonald helping with the distribution. Iain noted it is an easier task than in Ely where, on holiday, he found out they have an annual Potato Race and people race up and down the street carrying full sacks of potatoes.

Our staff were focused on the use to which they put their potatoes: making in particular soups, pies and even coupling them with pork chops.
